Born in Hong Kong, raised in Moscow, Russia, studied in London, and of Indian origin, ShahRuLe is a unique and truly global artist. Shah RuLe sonically brings an eclectic mix of hard- hitting Hip-Hop and Electronic drums, combined with samples and sounds acquired through his travels and life journey.
In 2014, Shah received airplay from BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra for his lead single “Nomad”. Shah was also featured on the lead single on “Unstoppable” on UK Producer NaamLess’s “The Heights EP”, which reached the No.1 iTunes World Music Chart position.
In June of 2015, Shah released a free album titled “Visualise Greatness”, produced and mixed by himself featuring local UK acts like Swami Baracus, Words Ali, Hope, Paulaa and more. Each track on album samples a classic Bollywood film song, which served as a transitional project for Shah RuLe’s move to Mumbai, India later on that year.
In 2016, Shah introduced himself into the Indian Hip-Hop scene with controversial short videos like “Rapper vs. Tabla” with percussionist Karan Chitra Deshmukh and “Drop Bars Not Bombs” featuring SlumGods Beat boxer Prashant Nair. Shah’s debut single came via Zee Music Company in early 2017, with his dance number Tu Kahan, featuring singer/actor Isheta Sarckar. Shah Rule also ventured into the corporate sector with collaborations with brands like Red Bull, Levi’s 501, Zee Café, Suzuki and many more. Shah Rule was featured on Hip Hop legend Hard Kaur’s The Rising Mixtape, which released at No. 1 on India’s iTunes Chart and featured on the lead single “All Stars Anthem”, which received an MTV Europe Music Award for Best India Act.
In early 2018, Shah Rule performed on the ramp for critically acclaimed Falguni Shane Peacock’s debut men’s collection at Lakme Fashion Week, alongside showstoppers Karan Johar and Sonakshi Sinha. The following months also saw Shah Rule sharing stages with major forces in the Indian music scene like Monica Dogra, Meet Bros, DJ Teri Miko, FUNC and more. Coming off a 10 day shoot with Zoya Akhtar for her forthcoming film “Gully Boy”, Shah Rule is set to make his acting debut in 2019 as a battle rapper, against actor Ranveer Singh.
